This malaria-free reserve is renowned for its dense wildlife population, featuring over 40 mammal species and approximately 2,000 animals, ensuring exceptional game viewing all year round.

Embark on the exclusive Schotia Tooth & Claw Safari, a guided game drive in an open 4×4 vehicle that takes you as close as possible to the best viewing spots of the Big 5—Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, and Leopard—along with Giraffes, Hippos, and more. Schotia was the first reserve in the Cape Province to have free-roaming lions, and sightings of these majestic animals are almost guaranteed.

Along the way, enjoy a short refreshments and toilet break at the halfway point, and after a morning of incredible animal encounters, relax around an open fire for a delicious dinner, expertly prepared. The safari focuses on showcasing the most popular wildlife sightings, providing an immersive experience of Africa’s wilderness.

To complete your adventure, a short, spotlight-lit night game drive offers the chance to see nocturnal animals in their natural behavior as you head back to the reception area. This unforgettable experience combines thrilling wildlife encounters, stunning scenery, and authentic South African safari hospitality.

When participating in an open 4x4 safari, it's important to be prepared for a range of weather conditions, including wind, cold, heat, dust, rain, and bumpy roads. Although we strive to ensure your comfort, certain aspects remain beyond our control. Transfers also occur in these open vehicles. Guests need to dress appropriately for the anticipated weather conditions to ensure a comfortable experience during the safari. This policy indicates that during a safari, in the event of bad weather, such as heavy rain, the tour will continue as long as at least one participant wishes to proceed. To end the safari early and return, all participants must collectively agree to do so. Note that there won't be any refunds if the safari is cut short due to participant requests to cut safari short.
